8 January 2018

An oil tanker and a bulk freighter collided off China's east coast on Saturday evening. Thirty-two crew members onboard have gone missing, China's Ministry of Transport said yesterday.

According to the ministry, all the missing crew members were all from the oil tanker. The vessel caught fire and tilted toward its starboard side after the collision. Chinese maritime authorities have dispatched eight vessels for search and rescue operations. The spokesperson of Chinese foreign ministry said the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
