70th Anniversary: Myanmar Football Federation Holds Celebration

18 June 2017

Myanmar Football Federation, MFF, celebrated its 70th anniversary on Saturday at the National Football Academy in Yangon.

The federation founded in 1947 joined FIFA in 1952, the AFC in 1954 and the AFF in 1996.

Chairman , Senior Myanmar football selection Players Association , Tin Aung (Goal) : I am very delighted with the gathering of all the senior football selection players at this celebration – there’s also a friendly match. We were a top ASIAN team with wins from 1964 to 1975. The new generation is very talented and we need to nurture more to promote our football standard.

Myanmar Football Federation oversees men’s National team, Women’s National team, youth national teams as well as national football championships and professional club competitions

Senior Player , Myanmar Football Selection Team, Myo Hlaing Win: This is the very first ever celebration. And, I am very glad to have participated.  The selection team has improved and they have a chance to participate in a lot. In the near future, our football standard will be developed, I think. I also hope the team will grab gold in the upcoming SEA Games.

To promote the country’s football standard, between 500 and 700 million kyats are used every year, according to the Chairman of MFF.
