Afghan double amputee swimmer dreams of Tokyo Paralympics

Afghan double amputee swimmer Malek Mohammad is training hard ahead of the Mexico City 2017 World Para Swimming Championships. He is one of Afghanistan's five para-swimmers on the national team. Success in the competition will give him a ticket to the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020. AMPUTEE SWIMMER, MALEK MOHAMMAD <<< "So I hope, I (am) selected there to represent my country, because others, I mean disabled people, the amputee community are looking on me and they are waiting to bring some good result for them, gold medal." He lost his both legs stepped on a landmine when he was 11.  But Mohammad has managed to overcome these hurdles . Now, he is a minor celebrity in Afghanistan, for having turned tragedy into success.
