Over 2600 acres confiscated farmlands have been returned to the farmers in Magwe Region.
Over 3100 acres of land were confiscated by the Ministry of Education (former Ministry of Science and Technology).
Farmlands are from Thadoot, ThanBoGyee, Ma Gyee Kan and Gyote Kone villages in Magwe Region of Myaing township in Pkokkku District.
Among them, over 2600 acres have been scrutinized and given back to the owners.
Vice President U Henry Van Thio, who chairs the Central Review Committee on Confiscated Farmland, attended the ceremony on Tuesday.
The Vice President said systematic efforts are being taken to ensure the transparency and to prevent land dispute in handing them over to original owners.
Later in the day, the Vice president and his entourage inspected the 50-bed people's hospital of Myaing Township. The Vice President comforted the patients and provided cash assistance.
The Vice President and party also visited the OSS public service office. The One Stop Shop is running with 13 departments, including the department which handles the land issues.
In Pakkoku Township, the Vice President and party inspected the land area where 200-bed Women and Children's hospital will be built.
He also inspected OSS public service office in Pakkoku.
Moreover, the Vice President donated sports equipments to the schools in Myaing township and Pokokku Township.
