Filipinos protest ahead of Donald Trump visit

12 November 2017

In central Manila, hundreds of protesters staged a rally yesterday to protest against the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump. The protesters are mainly left wing activists. They were worried that the U.S. intervention in the southern Philippines could worsen the situation. This part of the country is still recovering from battle against Islamist militants. Trump will arrive in Philippines today to attend the ASEAN Summit in the final leg of his five-country Asia trip.
