West Yangon Technological University team crowned as the Champion at UMG U-20 Futsal League with 24 points.
Pride International School followed with 21 points and YET Club stood third place with 18 points.
The event started on 22nd of May and ended on Monday. 9 Futsal teams from local and international schools, colleges and universities participated in matches.
Team Leader, WYTU FC, Htut Pyae Shein: We have been trained for a month and half. Every year, on independence day, our university hosts the futsal league and from these leagues, we form WYTU FC with the best players under 20 years old. It is also the 1st champion cup for our university. I'm very pleased to be awarded and in this month, we will continue to compete in universities league.
Beside the championship cups, the best player award and the best goal keeper award are also presented at its awarding event.
The United Machinery Group- UMG College organized the event aiming to promote physical fitness for students outside the classrooms and to nurture the outstanding students through the league.
Principal, UMG College, Thein Htay: Not only the physical strength, we intended for team spirit and good communication among the students and people. Not only the students from my school but also other players can exchange their experiences and to learn each other. 12 or 15 players are participating in each team. The judges from Myanmar football federation also participated.
It was the very first Futsal League organized by UMG college with the collaboration of Myanmar Futsal and Beach Soccer Federation.
