Japan praises US move toward Korean peninsula in show of force

10 April 2017

Yoshihide Suga, Japanese chief cabinet secretary praised the U.S.'s approach towards the situation on the Korean peninsula. A U.S. Navy strike group will be moving toward the western Pacific Ocean near the Korean peninsula as a show of force. Suga reiterated that a show of strength by the U.S. is a great deterrence and is of importance to the region. Navy strike group Carl Vinson, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, will make its way toward the Korean peninsula from Singapore as a show of force. That comes after Pyongyang tested a liquid-fueled Scud missile this month.
