Libyan navy rescues more than 100 migrants from sea

14 December 2017

Libyan navy rescued more than one hundred migrants yesterday. The boat carrying the migrants almost capsized before the Libyan coastguard rescued them. Officials said 114 migrants were rescued. The Italian Prime Minister will talk to the leaders of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia before all 28 EU leaders discuss migration today. The four eastern EU states have persistently refused to accept asylum-seekers to ease the burden on Italy and Greece.
