Zimbabwe President Mugabe fires Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa

15 November 2017

The President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe fired his deputy, vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa. It is for his disloyalty and failure to discharge his duties in a reliable manner, said the Zimbabwean minister of Media and Information at a press briefing on  the behalf of the president. President Mugabe did not immediately announce the next successor to the vice president in his decision. Some analysts believe that he is likely to nominate his wife for the position.
