100-day countdown to Beijing Paralympic Games

A Beijing Paralympic Winter Games ceremony marked the 100-day countdown to the games on Wednesday evening. Various singing and dance performances by the disabled were shown in the Ice Cube, a curling events venue that was transformed from the National Aquatics Center built for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.  All preparations for the Paralympic Winter Games were in place and it will run from March 4 to 13.  Participants will be strictly isolated from the general population and could face expulsion for violating COVID-19 restrictions.  Beijing will become the first city to host both Summer and Winter Games.
