172 injured in east China oil tank blast receiving treatment in hospitals

The oil tank truck blast that happened on Saturday afternoon in east China's Province are being treated in six hospitals. The blast has killed 19 and injured 172 others. Among the injured people, 24 are in severe conditions. Most of the injured suffer from burns, trauma, and craniocerebral injuries.

The accident happened at around 16:46 when a tank truck loaded with liquefied gas exploded near the exit of the expressway in the section, setting nearby vehicles on fire, and flattening nearby buildings. Rescue teams worked through the night to search for survivors. Officials say they will continue investigations into the cause of the explosion.
