2020 Seed Fair: 3-Day Event Held In Nay Pyi Taw

The Department of Agriculture is organizing a 3-day event of Seed Fair in Nay Pyi Taw.

This Seed Fair aims for more interaction between the farmers and the seeds distribution companies, all-round development of seed sector, and accelerating the public-private-partnership.

Deputy Director General, Department Of Agriculture, Thet Zin Maung said “Through this kind of fair, trust building can be made between the farmers and the distribution companies. The farmers can also learn the practical usage of seeds, and also come to understand the use of good quality seeds. And thus, they can earn more incomes through quality products.”

The Seed Fair has been organizing since 2018, and this year is the third time holding of the fair.

A total of 48 booths from the Department and 29 private companies display their products at the Seed Fair.

Director, Garden and Plant Biotechnology Division (Agriculture Department), Thura Soe said “Most of the displayed items are vegetable seeds, paddy and crop seeds, agricultural inputs and farm implements. The event will be held for three days till the 30th January. We invited farmers from regions and states for study visit. Mostly, farmers from Nay Pyi Taw Council area visited here.”

‘2020 Seed Fair’ is being held at the State Agricultural Institute in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area from 28th to 30th January.
