21st AEC Council Meeting: Myanmar delegation attended the meeting in Cambodia

21st ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting and related meetings took place in Cambodia from 9th to 10th November.

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw attended the ceremony in Phenom Penh. On the 10th, the Union Minister attended the opening ceremony of ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen made an opening speech. It was followed by the 21st AEC meeting which discussed the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework, 4th Industrial Revolution, implementation of digital transformation and environmental sustainability and the facts to be added by AEC in drafting the ASEAN Community Vision 2025.

The meeting also adopted the AEC reports to be submitted to the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and other documents. In the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Economic Ministers Meeting, the discussion was made on finalizing the negotiation for the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area.

In the ASEAN-UK Economic Ministers meeting, the Ministers exchanged views on regional and global economic matters and adopted the joint declaration on future economic cooperation between ASEAN and UK.

Myanmar delegation also attended the opening ceremony of 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit on the 11th of November.
