31st Anniversary Of IPRD: Union Minister For Information Attends Ceremony

The 31st Anniversary of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw, Tuesday.

First, the ceremony was opened an honorary song. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said that IPRD is a large network that is formed with 427 offices in regions, states, districts and townships across the nation.

The main responsibilities of the Ministry, “To inform, To educate and to entertain” are being reformed with new and refresh programs. The Union Minister called for making efforts for improvement of the tasks of the Ministry and the department with the new formation of IPRD in 2022 and spreading more authentic news with the strength and unity of all staffs.

The Union Minister then presented the best reporting wards for districts in 2021 and special awards to winning district offices, respectively and also presented certificates to those who have been promoted. Deputy Minister U Ye Tint presented the best reporting wards for townships in 2021 and special wards to respective township offices and also presented prizes to winners for the bestCOVID-19 quality news.

The permanent secretary, directors-general and managing directors also gave away prizes to the winners in the respective fields. Then, a video clip on the performance of the IPRD was shown and on behalf of the winners, a staff officer spoke words of thanks.
