59th Gems Emporium 2024: SAC Chairman attends opening in Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening ceremony of the 59th Myanmar Gems Emporium 2024 on Friday at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Joint Secretary of the Council, SAC members, Union-level officials and many other high-ranking officials as well as local and foreign gems merchants. There, the Senior General and attendees to the ceremony watched a video clip on pearls and jewellery items production and sales and preparations to hold this Emporium 2024.

And, the Senior General viewed displays of jade, gems and pearl lots to be sold, heard report and gave necessary instructions. The Senior General also viewed round private jewellery showrooms and displays of uncut jade lots displayed outside the hall.

The Myanmar Gems Emporiums have been held since 1964 for selling gems and jade to earn foreign exchange for the State and ensure economic development of citizens. It’s reported that 400 pearl lots, 160 gems lots and 4,550 jade lots will be sold through an open tender system in this 59th Myanmar Gems Emporium 2024 which is set to take place till the 12th of May.
