Academic Matter: Rakhine State Chief Minister visits Sittwe University

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin accompanied by State Government members and departmental officials met with the Pro-Rector, Professors, Heads of Departments and faculty members from Sittwe University on Friday.

First, the Chief Minister and party inspected the classrooms and teaching process. There, they cordially greeted the students and expressed words of encouragement. Then, the Chief Minister and party inspected the completion of classrooms renovation, the entrance of graduation hall and main building of the university which were damaged by cyclone MOCHA and coordinated requirements.

Afterward, the Chief Minister and party met with the pro-rector, professors, heads of departments and faculty members at the meeting hall. During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed that the government is making exerted efforts to create a peaceful learning environment for the students and to promote the well-being of the teachers.

Therefore, every education personnel is encouraged to participate in providing peaceful learning environment for the students. He also added that the government will cooperate with the relevant officials in fulfilling the needs of the students.

Then, the members of the state government presented reports on peaceful learning of the students, providing assistance for the students who have to travel from afar to attend the university and college, sale condition of fuel oil, work implementations in improving transportation system and arrangements on providing accommodation to the students. Then, the Chief Minister supplemented the reports and gave closing remarks.
