Aquascaping Show: Mandalay Aquascaper Team Organizes In Mandalay

With the aim to love natural environment, to study under water ecosystem and to conserve traditional fish species that become to be extinct,

2nd Myanmar Aquascaping Show was organized in Mandalay in the weekend. It was organized by Mandalay Aquascaper Team that is comprised of enthusiasts and aquarium shop owners.

Secretary, Mandalay Aquascaper Team, Zaw Min Naing said “We display traditional and alien species of small aquatic plants. The fish species that are at risk for extinction in Myanmar are also exhibited here. We arrange the exhibition with the designs of natural scenery such as forest, wood, rock and garden. There are 25 aquarium decoration fish tanks and all plants here are real ones.”

Aquascaping is the practice of creating a natural aquatic landscape in the aquarium. It is the craft of arranging aquatic plants, as well as rocks, stones, driftwood and it likes gardening under water.

According to the Mandalay Aquascaper Team, now more people are interested in the aquascaping art in Myanmar. It takes one month to display a small aquascaping tank in the exhibition and they will arrange to be able exhibit the salt water tanks decorated with salt water aquatic plants and fish species in the next year.

Enthusiast, Min Zin Aung said “I have been interested in this kind of art after visiting the 1st exhibition in Mandalay. I got a lot of knowledge and it also supports for the conservation of natural environment. I like the natural design. I’d like to give suggestion to hold more such kind of events in future.”

According to the organizer, they will try to organize the competitions by inviting foreign experts and are making arrangements to hold this kind of exhibition once a year.
