ASEAN-China Short Video Contest: Myanmar Wins Excellence Award

Myanmar won excellence award in the 2ndASEAN-China “Friendship and Cooperation” Short Video Contest in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations.

With the program entitled, “Pauk-phaw Friendship & Cooperation”, Myanmar grabbed the Excellence Award together with other 15 selected entries from China, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Laos and Malaysia. Malaysia grabbed gold award in the contest with the title, "Cho Chong Gee: 18 Years of a Malaysian in Beijing”, China and Cambodia also won silver award each and Bronze award goes to China and Indonesia respectively. Since the contest was launched in 2021, a total of 15,686 entries have been received from China and 10 ASEAN countries, with 44.405 million views and 15.713 million discussions on social media platforms.

The Contest was opened to video producers (professional or amateur), social media anchors and bloggers from ASEAN countries and China from 19th May to 31st August 2021. The participating countries participated their programs under the themes, “Battling COVID-19”, “Pragmatic Cooperation”, “People-to-People Exchange” and “My favourite City (in China or any ASEAN country). Under the purview of Senior Official Meeting on Responsible for Information (SOMRI), the Short Video Contest was launched officially via online ceremony on 19th May 2021.

The contest was organized by the Mission of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to ASEAN, in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat, the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN, the National radio and Television Administration of China, China International Publishing Group and China Public Diplomacy Association.
