Asian, African Nations Join AALCO Meeting

Indonesia is hosting the 61st Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) annual session in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Indonesia on October 16 to 20. Representatives from 47 countries are taking part in the 61st (AALCO) and it was also attended by observer countries including Australia, New Zealand, Tunisia, Zambia and Russia. During the meeting, Indonesia offers member countries to cooperate in investment.

On Wednesday’s meeting, the Director General of General Legal Administration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights said that Indonesia encouraged member countries to establish a regulation for convenience in running businesses in their respective countries.

To do so, member countries need to simplify licensing procedures which often delay foreign investment. The combined Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Asia and Africa is estimated to reach US$54 trillion in 2023, he added.
