The Chinese capital Beijing recently launched a total of 54 post-disaster reconstruction projects aimed at renovating and reinforcing water infrastructure severely damaged in floods in July 2023.

The projects include the reconstruction of a hydrometric station in Fangshan District of Beijing. After the reconstruction, the elevations of its station building, observation room and cable house will be raised based on the water level of last year’s floods.

So far, Beijing has had a total of 142 projects for post-disaster water infrastructure reconstruction and for enhancing the disaster relief and reduction capacity of the city, which are supported by funds raised through national debt financing.
