Bilateral Ties: Harris meets virtually with Mexican President

Vice President Kamala Harris met virtually with Mexico's President on Friday. "Mexico is our closest neighbor and we share a border, of course," said Harris.

President Joe Biden tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the White House effort to tackle the migration challenge at the U.S. southern border and work with Central American nations to address root causes of the problem.

Since January, the U.S. has seen an influx of more than 20,000 unaccompanied children who have recently crossed the border from Mexico.
