Blood Donation: Myanmar Fire Services Department Marking 75th Anniversary

Myanmar Fire Services Department will reach its 75th Anniversary on the 5th of May, 2021. To mark the upcoming Anniversary, Fire Services departments across the country have been carrying out cleaning process at religious buildings, public areas and also have been donating blood. On Sunday, Departmental personnel donated blood at 1,000-bed Tatmadaw Hospital in Yangon. Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD) is a government organization which is responsible to deal with disasters conducting fire fighting and search & rescue activities.

Assistant Head, Fire Services Department, Tamwe Township, Myo Min said “I’ve been donating blood since the year of 1976. This is my 121st blood donation. For blood donation, I received awards for 3 times. I’m very pleased to donate my blood for those who need it.”

Sergeant, Fire Services Department, Mayangone Township, Toe Aung said “This is my 50th blood nation as I’ve been donating blood since 2000. Blood can save lives, so I donate, and I’m very pleased. I’ll continue blood donation.”

Director, Fire Services Department, Yangon Region, Myint San Aye said “Our Department has been working for social benefit - Blood donation is part of it, and, it’s to mark the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Fire Services Department.”

Duties and functions of the Myanmar Fire Services Department are Fire precaution & fire prevention, Fire extinction, Search and rescue services and Social humanitarian services. Myanmar Fire Brigade is categorized by 3 types- government fire brigade, auxiliary fire brigade and reserved fire brigade for factories, mills, and so on.
