Colombia's capital Bogota celebrated its twenty second "Clean Air Day"where publicly owned vehicles of any kind, except bicycles, are prohibited from transiting the city streets Thursday.
Under an initiative organised by the Office of the Mayor, "Clean Air Day"keeps vehicles off the streets of Bogota from 06:30 local time to 19:30.
Commuters are encouraged to walk, ride a bicycle or take public transport to work. Some of the city's 8,000 buses and 50,000 taxis, however, were allowed to continue working.
