At the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday, Bolivian President Luis Arce spoke plans to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and climate change, as well as criticism of the OAS.
Arce complained that the regional organizations do not have the same strength and cohesion as European organizations such as the European Union, but instead, the Organization of American States (OAS) "divide us, promote coup d'etas and generate instability" in the region.
Similarly, Arce denounced the unilateral policies of the United States, such as the blockade against Cuba, which he claims Cuba has affected more than 11 million people during the middle of the pandemic. Additionally, he presented his four-point plan to confront climate change. According to Arce, this compensation would be through financial cooperation, technology transfer, and capacities development.
