Brazilian athletes get COVID-19 vaccines ahead of Tokyo Olympics

Brazil's government started to vaccinate athletes, coaches, referees and accredited media headed for the Olympics and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga was in Rio de Janeiro, at Brazilian Army Physical Education School and helped vaccinate some of the delegations.

Brazil will use 4,050 doses of the Pfizer shot and another 8,000 from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac. It follows similar measures being undertaken by countries including the United States, Great Britain and Australia.
