California governor presses China's Xi on climate cooperation

California governor Gavin Newsom said on climate cooperation at a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Wednesday.

China and the United States are the two biggest emitters of greenhouse gases and represent over 40 percent of global emissions. And, California is not going to move needles on climate change unless the United States and China collaborate together. During the meeting, the two countries had the opportunity to focus on the issue of climate change and low-carbon green growth.
