Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday announced his country would be contributing 100 million vaccine doses to poorer countries to help end the coronavirus pandemic.

He said Canada was one of only four countries to have fully met its obligations to the so-called ACT mechanism for distributing vaccines globally. He was speaking at the end of the G-7 summit in Cornwall, England. Trudeau also made clear that G-7 members would continue to "contest" China in certain areas such as human rights.
