Chess Tournament: Aiming For Turning Out Outstanding Chess Players

The Mon State Chief Minister’s Cup ten townships U-18 Men’s and Women’s Chess Tournament was opened at the Indoor Stadium in Mawlamyaing on Wednesday.

At the event, the Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tunsaid that the sports events are held for the development of sports sector in Mon State. Playing chess helps raise the brain and personal intelligence and greatly contributes to the improvement of systematic thinking skills.

He called on striving for turning out outstanding chess players who can take pride for the nation through the event. Then, the Chief Minister team opened the tournament.The Chess tournament organized by Mon State Government will be held until 22nd July.
