Chilean health authorities on Monday began rolling out a vaccination campaign against the coronavirus for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Children were inoculated with the Sinovac vaccine. China has authorized Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines for children ages 3 to 17.

The vaccine process started 12 days after the inoculation of minors was approved by Chile's Public Health Institute. Chile has reported some 1.7 million COVID-19 cases and more than 38,500 deaths.
