China and Cambodia to strengthen cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong and Deputy Prime Minister-designate Sun Chanthol in Phnom Penh on Saturday. Wang is on an official visit in Cambodia to strengthen ties and cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides vowed to further build a China-Cambodia community with a shared future. Wang extended congratulations to Cambodia on the successful general election and the upcoming formation of a new government.

China firmly supports Cambodia in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions, safeguarding sovereignty, independence and national dignity, and playing a greater role in regional and international affairs.

This year's 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the "China-Cambodia Friendship Year" as an opportunity to push the building of a community of shared future between Cambodia and China to a new level and carry forward the great friendship between two countries.
