China Polar Aircraft cpmpleted all flight missions

China’s first fixed-wing aircraft for polar flight Snow Eagle 601completed all flight missions in China’s 40th Antarctic scientific expedition and has left Antarctica, according to the Polar Research Institute of China.

It expedition started in November last year.During this expedition, the Snow Eagle 601 made a total of 44 flights, accomplishing all its assigned missions. The aircraft carried out aerial survey under an international collaborative project to provide more accurate data from the edges of the Antarctic ice sheet, which was widely recognized.

The aircraft also provided personnel and material transportation and emergency security services for surveys in the East Antarctic. It serves as a mobile “experimental platform” in China’s Antarctic scientific expeditions.
