China rejects US and UK accusations over HK

China rejected accusations by the U.S., U.K. and others that Beijing has undermined the freedoms and autonomy promised to Hong Kong as the country marks the 25th anniversary of the city's handover to Chinese rule.

Separately, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian announced Foreign Minister Wang Yi's trip to five Southeast Asian countries from July 3 to 14.

Wang will attend the 7th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' meeting hosted in Myanmar and a conference of the Group of 20 foreign ministers at the invitation of Indonesia, Zhao said.
