China reports 427 new confirmed cases, 47 new deaths of coronavirus infection

Chinese health authorities said on Saturday that there were reports of 427 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection, 47 deaths and 248 new suspected cases on Friday from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The latest data indicated that 2,885 patients were cured and discharged from hospital, and 10,193 people in close contacts with confirmed patients were released from medical observation on Friday.

By the end of Friday, 138 confirmed cases had been reported in China's Hong Kong and Macao Special Autonomous Regions and Taiwan region, with 94 in Hong Kong, including 30 discharged from hospital and two deaths, 10 in Macao, including eight discharged from hospital, and 34 in Taiwan, including nine discharged from hospital and one death.
