Chinese mainland reports 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Chinese mainland reported 12 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including nine native and three imported cases, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday. Of the nine domestically transmitted cases, seven were reported in Beijing and two in its neighboring Hebei Province, the commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported on Tuesday, according to the commission. By Tuesday, the mainland had reported a total of 1,888 imported cases. As of Tuesday, the overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,430. Also on Tuesday, three new asymptomatic cases, including one from abroad, were reported on the mainland. One asymptomatic case was re-categorized as confirmed case. By Tuesday, 1,177 confirmed cases including six deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 45 confirmed cases in Macao, and 446 in Taiwan including seven deaths.
