Chinese mainland reports 19 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Monday

Chinese health authority said on Tuesday that it received reports of 19 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on Monday, including eight domestically transmitted and 11 imported ones. Of the eight domestically transmitted cases reported, seven were in Beijing and one was in Shanghai, the National Health Commission said in its daily report. No deaths related to the disease were reported, the commission said, adding that one new suspected case from abroad was reported in Shanghai. The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,531.

The mainland had reported a total of 1,918 imported cases. Four new asymptomatic cases, three from overseas, were also reported on the mainland. Three imported cases were re-categorized as confirmed ones. Moreover, 1,203 confirmed cases including seven deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 46 confirmed cases in Macao, and 447 in Taiwan including seven deaths.
