Chinese mainland reports 39 new COVID-19 cases, 38 imported

Chinese mainland reported 39 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, of which 38 were imported, the National Health Commission said on Monday. The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 81,708. A total of 713,988 close contacts had been traced and 16,154 of them were still under medical observation.

The mainland had also reported a total of 951 imported cases with zero death. Of the imported cases, 258 had been discharged from hospital after recovery. No new confirmed case was reported in Hubei Province, the commission said. By the end of Sunday, 890 confirmed cases with four deaths had been reported in Hong Kong, 44 confirmed cases in Macao, and 363 in Taiwan including five deaths.
