Cleaning at Pagoda: Myanmar Fire Services Dept. to Mark Diamond Anniversary

Myanmar Fire Services Department will reach its Diamond Anniversary on the 5th of May, 2021. To mark the upcoming Anniversary, Fire Services departments across the country have been carrying out cleaning process at pagodas and donating blood.

On Saturday, the Department in Yangon carried out cleaning process at Swe Taw Myat Pagoda in Yangon.

Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD) is a government organization which is responsible to deal with disasters conducting fire fighting and search & rescue activities.

Member of Swe Taw Myat Pagoda Board of Trustees, Nyunt Tin: "They are carrying out cleaning process for pilgrims ā€“ this is good deed ā€“ Iā€™m very pleased for that. This Pagoda is open since 6 a.m. ā€“ pilgrims come to pay homage to the Pagoda, but, the number is not much due to COVID-19. The Pagoda compound is over 70 acres wide."

Director of Myanmar Fire Services Department, Thein Tun Oo: "We are carrying out the cleaning process here to mark the diamond anniversary of Myanmar Fire Services Department which will fall on the 5th of May, 2021. All of our departments across the country have been carrying out the cleaning process at pagodas and donating blood for the anniversary. Here, we have 400 personals."

Duties and functions of the Myanmar Fire Services Department are Fire precaution & fire prevention, Fire extinction, Search and rescue services and Social humanitarian services. Myanmar Fire Brigade is categorized by 3 types- government fire brigade, auxiliary fire brigade and reserved fire brigade for factories, mills, and so on.
