Coordination meeting: Mon State CM held meeting on fish breeding

The second coordination meeting for the implementation of river catfish to breed in commercial scale having high market demand in Mon State fish market for the development of fish firming and food security in the state was held at the meeting hall of the Mon State Government Office in the morning on 5th April with the attendance of Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, state ministers and departmental officials.

At the meeting, Chief Minister said the Mon State Government is implementing prosperity of the country and food security as the national objectives as well as the commodity production based on the agriculture and livestock breeding and other economic sectors for the all-round development. The state will provide assistance for the requirements of livestock breeding farms. The responsible officials are urged to provide assistance to solve the difficulties faced by the livestock breeders and small scale fish breeders, those who want to run the fish breeding in commercial scale are invited etc.

Next, the head officers of fisheries department in Mon State and attendees clarified the status of breeding marketable river catfishes and status of implementing fish breeding in the state. The state ministers conducted supplemented discussion and the Chief Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
