COVID-19 epidemic worsens in South Korea, Japan, Iran

The epidemic of COVID-19 is worsening in a few Asian countries, such as South Korea, Japan and Iran, according to reports. South Korea reported 600 new cases on March 2 alone, bringing the total number of confirmed cases up to 4,812 and the total number of deaths up to 29. In Japan, the number of confirmed cases, including foreigners, rose to 980 on Monday, with 706 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

The total number of death reached 12. In Iran, the number of confirmed cases ballooned to 523 by Monday to bring the total number up to 1,501. The number of new death was 12 to bring the total up to 66. The number of suspected cases was 4,312. The number of cases discharged from hospital was 291. The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that it has sent to Tehran a technical team, which brought with them protective and other medical supplies enough for 15,000 medical workers and reagent test kits enough for testing 100,000 people.
