Covid-19 Update: 1,002 New Cases Reported At 8 P.M. On October 17

The Ministry of Health reported 1,002 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 13,680 lab specimens within 24 hours. 30 COVID-19 positive patients have died while 1,113 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 487,853 with 18,359 deaths and 440,259 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals. COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease.

Up to 16th October, 2021, a total of 11,223,258 people have been vaccinated. Of them, 4,574,418 people have been vaccinated two times and 6,648,867 people once.

Therefore, a total of 15,797, 703 doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated. The Ministry of Health has given instructions for office/department staff and everyone’s active cooperation in following the COVID-19 preventive measures including reminders of staying safe and healthy during the pandemic.
