Covid-19 Update: One New Case Found At 8 A.M. On 5th August

The Ministry of Health and Sports reported one new cases of COVID-19 found on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. according to the lab results of the National Health Laboratory (Yangon). A total of 263 lab specimens were tested and one new confirmed case was found. 

The new confirmed patient is a 15 year old girl from Pyigyidagun Township in Mandalay Region and has travel history to Sudan. She has been put under quarantine in Mingaladon Township and would be admitted to receive medical treatment in Waibargi Specialist hospital. As of 8:00 am on 5th August, there are 356 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar with 6 deaths and 302 recoveries.

According to the COVID-19 Dashboard of the World Health Organization (WHO) as of 4th August at 1:04 pm CEST, the World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America with over 4.6 million confirmed cases, followed by Brazil with over 2.7 million cases and India with over 1.8 million cases.

The Russian Federation, South Africa, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), the United Kingdom and Spain include in high confirmed cases of COVID-19. Globally, there have been over 18.1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 691,013 deaths, according to the WHO report.
