COVID-19 Vaccination in Mandalay: Booster Doses Administered to Over 170 Hotel Employees

The Ministry of Health is continuously providing COVID-19 vaccination to the people to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease. COVID-19 booster doses were administered to a total of over 170 employees from the hotel industry in Mandalay Region.
Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. According to the information on the detection of ARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant released by the Ministry of Health on 13th August, twenty-five patients who are returnees from
foreign countries were found with COVID-19 Omicron sub-variant and another seven cases were from local transmissions. So far, the Ministry is accelerating COVID-19 disease monitoring and control measures in addition to disease prevention, control and treatment activities.
Mu Mu Soe Lwin, Assistant Director, Department of Public Health (Mandalay) said “We vaccinate Sinovax vaccines to people. If people inject the booster doses, they will not suffer from the serious cases. That’s why, I encourage people to inject vaccines againstCOVID-19 disease.”
The vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.
Marry Theint said “We should prevent COVID-19 disease before it happens. If we have already vaccinated, we can prevent from the COVID-19 infection and the infectious rate to other people will decline. It’s the best way to prevent any disease in advance before the outbreak.”
The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also received millions of doses donated by friendly countries. The Ministry is continuously conducting COVID-19 Disease Surveillance and releasing information on the detection of COVID-19 cases and SARS CoV-2 Omicron Variant cases in timely manner.
