Demonstration on MEVM: Programs conducted at MoI and MoHA

The Union Election Commission is conducting clarification and demonstration of voting regarding Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM). The activity was conducted at the Ministry of Information on Wednesday morning and Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, officers and staffs of the Ministry attended the event.

In the afternoon, the same activity was conducted at the Ministry of Home Affairs and directors-general of the Ministry, officers and staffs attended the event and conducted practical voting. In the clarification and demonstration on Myanmar electronic voting machine, members of the UEC and officials of UEC office explained and conducted test-voting.

The Union Election Commission is demonstrating Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) at the Ministries as the voter awareness program and to date, a total of 2,988 officers and staffs of 16  Ministries have already conducted practical voting. In testing, there is no error on the machine so that the MEVM can be applied securely and moreover, officers and staffs have learnt that they cast votes transparently with full secure as the voting slips reach in the ballot box after witnessing their voted party in the slip.

In regard with demonstrations, the Union Minister, the deputy minister, officers and staff asked about they would like to know and discussed recommendations. 94 officers and staffs of the Ministry of Information and 321 officers and staffs of the Ministry of Home Affairs attended the events and cast votes in pratical with voting machine.
