Dresden Xmas market lights up after COVID pause

Germany's oldest Christmas market opened on Wednesday for the first time in two years, ushering in Advent by turning on its festive lights.

The Dresden market was not allowed to open in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But rising prices may have put some people in a somber mood during this year's festivities.
