Drugs confiscated: Drugs worth 12.5 billion Kyats seized in Shan State (South)

2.5 million of stimulant tablets worth 12.5 billion Kyats were seized in Shan State (South), according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off about two motor vehicles carrying durgs, the combined team comprising members of security force was waiting near Htin-Kwin Village on Yatsauk-Intaw road in Yatsauk Township, Shan State (South) at 7:30 PM on 17th January, HILUX motor vehicle driven by Zaw Win Thein accompanied by Htoo Wint Maung and six-wheelers CANTER vehicle driven by Aung Pyae Sone Oo (a) Pyae Sone accompanied by Ma Htoo Htoo Aung were stopped and searched.

The combined forces seized 25 million of stimulant tablets worth 12.5 billion Kyats carried on the vehicles. According to the confession of the arrested suspects, the in-charge of carrying the drugs Aung Kyaw Myo (a) Ye Htut (a) Shan Lay was arrested at his house in Pyihtaungsu Road of Shwe Nyaung Township.

According to the investigation, it’s revealed that the stimulant tablets were carried from Kyaukgu(ကျောက်ဂူ) Village of Yatsauk Township to Taunggyi and Shwe Nyaung Townships and the culprits have been taken action under the law and the chain of offenders are under investigation, it’s learnt.
