Earthquake drill: Rescue operations demonstrated in case of natural disasters

With the supervision of Taninthayi Region Government and arrangement of the Region Disaster Management Department, the Red Cross Society, Fire Brigade member, Zabuthiri Emergency Medical Service Team, teachers and students demonstrated earthquake drill at the No.3 Basic High School in Dawei on  Tuesday to respond effectively rescue operations if case of natural disaster in Dawei District.

Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko and the regional ministers, departmental officials and faculties observed the drill. In drill, the fire brigade and the Red Cross Society members and the Zabuthiri Emergency Medical Service Team demonstrated rescue measures by using search and rescue equipment.

It was followed by the demonstration of quake drill and performed rescue operations. The drill on first aid was also demonstrated and transferring patients to the Zabuthiri Emergency Medical Service Team and sending to nearby hospital with a short period were demonstrated at the drill.
