Economic Recovery Plan: Consultation Meeting on Private Sector’s Inputs

Consultation Meeting on private sector’s inputs on the drafted Myanmar Economic Recovery Plan (MERP) developed by the Working Committee to address the impact of COVID-19 on Myanmar Economy was virtually held on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations was attended by U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Chairman of Working Committee, Deputy Minister U Than Aung Kyaw, Dr. Wah Wah Maung, Secretary of Working Committee and Director-General for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, and President, Vice President and Central Executive Committee Members from the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). The Union Minister delivered the opening remarks and the President of the UMFCCI briefed on the private sector cooperation for successful implementation of the MERP.

On behalf of private sectors, Vice President of the UMFCCI presented the comments and inputs of private sectors on the MERP (draft) along with the future cooperation programme in implementing the relevant action plans in the MERP.
After hearing the report, the Union Minister acknowledged the private sectors inputs and recommendations, and as a living document, recommendations will be considered to incorporate in the MERP.
