Efforts for the Disabled: Meeting for rights of persons with disabilities

The Work Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities held the meeting 2/2022 on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing urged the members of the Committee to arrange for the participation of disabled people in the vocational courses opened by the relevant ministries and allocate funds according to the fiscal year to provide the necessary support for the disabled. Departments need to identify short-term and long-term projects and implement them as soon as possible.

The 3-million Kyats fund for the rights of persons with disabilities is being systematically increased without any waste, and the increased funds must be used for the development of the social life of persons with disabilities and the implementation of activities that will be effective and beneficial for the persons with disabilities, the Union Minister added.

This meeting at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw discussed implementation of the decisions and work plans to be conducted by work committees.
