Ethnic Affairs: Meeting with Region/State Ethnic Affairs Ministers

A coordination meeting on cooperation among the Regions and States in cooperation for ethnic affairs was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Union Minister U Saw Tun Aung Myint gave a speech, saying that the Region and State Ethnic Affairs Ministers are needed to request assistance from the respective region and state governments for conducting educative talks on the rights of ethnic people and vocational training.

He also discussed the plans for resettlement of internal displaced persons, development projects, land utilization for agriculture, livestock breeding and mineral extraction and appointment of Teaching Assistant and Language Teachers.

It is learnt that plans have been made to organize a meeting to resolve the challenges encountered in appointing the Teaching Assistant and Language Teachers with the participation of members of the State Administration Council, officials from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Ethnic Affairs, Region and State Ethnic Affairs Ministers and representatives from the Ethnic Language and Cultural Associations.
