Ethnic Affairs: Union Minister Attends New Entry Gate Opening

The opening ceremony of the new entry gate named ‘Yadana’ to the Union National Races Village in Thaketa Township of Yangon Region took place on Monday.

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint and many other officials attended the event and ceremonially opened the gate ‘Yadana’. Now, the Union National Races Village has two entry gates for the convenience of visitors.

After this event, the Union Minister inspected construction of a jetty in the Village, heard report on the construction process, stressed quality construction and called for efforts for completion of the construction process before the 76th Anniversary Union Day which will fall on the 12th of February 2022.

Upon completion of the jetty, the Village will attract more local and foreign visitors due to the opening of the waterway. The Union National Races Village located on the bank of the Bago River receives between 400 and 500 visitors per day on weekdays and about 2,000 on weekends.
